How is the Capsim simulation grade calculated?

Capsim simulations are graded uniquely depending on the preset business conditions and the overall performance of the participants. The final grade of each participant depends on their business strategy, the strength of their courier reports, final capsim score and the teamwork engagement of group members. In most cases a predefined method is used to calculate the simulation scores. The method involves the following weighted average scores:

20 percent of the scores consists of the Total profits.
15 percent arises from the market share of the company – this is the number of loyal customers from the entire market.

The market capitalization constitutes 15 percent of the final score. Market capitalization refers to the market value of a company shares weighed in form of dollars. Market cap is calculated by multiplying the company’s outstanding shares with the market price of the company’s share. This value is used to determine the size of the company instead of viewing its size from the perspective of sales and profits.

50 percent of the final score is attributable to the Return on Equity (ROE).Return on Equity is a profitability ratio used to ascertain the ability of the company to pay back shareholder’s invested capital. The high the ROE scores, the better the overall score of the capsim simulation business.

Capsim simulation participants should strive to achieve high Return on Equity scores because they attract new shareholders and encourage the existing ones to invest more equity confidently.

So how can a business increase its Return on Equity scores?

Let us begin by understanding the ROE equation : ROE = (Net income)/(Shareholder’s Equity). Net income is the revenue after general expenses are subtracted. This ratio indicates how efficiently the company uses shareholder’s capital. The management can improve Return on Equity by investing in activities which translate increased sales revenue and consequently increase the net income.
